Nutrition
Programs
Disable Welfare Foundation (DWF) has made significant contributions to improve nutrition for persons with disabilities in Somalia. We have implemented various initiatives to address the unique nutrition needs of individuals with disabilities, ensuring their well-being and overall health. DWF has partnered with local communities, nutrition experts, and organizations to develop tailored programs that promote proper nutrition. We have conducted awareness campaigns and provided educational resources to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition and its impact on the well-being of persons with disabilities.
To ensure accessibility, DWF has worked tirelessly to provide specialized nutrition services and support. We have collaborated with healthcare professionals and nutritionists to develop customized meal plans, taking into account the specific dietary requirements of individuals with disabilities. DWF has implemented inclusive community gardens and farming projects, where individuals with disabilities actively participate in growing nutritious fruits and vegetables. This initiative not only promotes healthy eating habits but also encourages self-sustainability and empowerment. DWF has not only improved access to nutritious food but also facilitated training sessions and workshops on cooking and meal preparation for individuals with disabilities and their families. These initiatives empower them to make informed choices and create delicious and nutritious meals at home.
