Our Background
THE Name of the Foundation is DISABLE WELFARE FOUNDATION (DWF) which is a national, non-governmental, non-profit making and non-political organization working in the implementation of welfare and humanitarian service.
THE foundation was established on 25th December, 2005 in Mogadishu the capital of Somalia, by a group of disabled people in different professions, such as Lawyers, Teachers, Religious, Businessmen and Laborers.
THE Head quarter of the foundation is Mogadishu it can have branches office in the regions and overseas countries. THE Logo of DWF is made of a disabled person who lost his arm and leg and hold a crutch or walking aid.
Our Mission: THE foundation works to promote disabled persons rights to full and equal participation in the social life of the community and to enjoy living conditions equal to those enjoyed by other citizens.
Our Vision: THE vision statement of the foundation is to protect and advance the interests of all disabled people in Somalia, so that disabled persons enjoy an environment that is free from discrimination.
Our Goal
- To promote research into disability matters and to provide members with information regarding development in disability field inside and outside of Somalia
- To implement steps to enable disabled people to speak with one voice on matters of national or international importance affecting disabled people.
